Add 3 sticks to divide the factory into 2 equal parts. The size of the 2 parts must be equal, but the 2 shapes don't have to be the same.
It is not so clear to see the solution with matchsticks. The figure below shows that the 2 areas are exactly the same in size.
It should now be clear that:
A1 = A2
B1 = B2
C1 = C2
D1 + D2 = D3
A1 = A2
B1 = B2
C1 = C2
D1 + D2 = D3
Why not make two equal rectangles by adding one vertically in the center at the bottom, one at the top horizontally across the left half and one vertically at the top on the left connected to the one just added horizontally?
