Shown above are 8 matchsticks pointing UPWARDS. The challenge in this puzzle is to turn 7 sticks to point DOWNWARDS by following certain rules.
The rules are:
1. Always start with a stick pointing UPWARDS, skip the next 2 and turn the 3rd one. As an example, start with stick 4, skip 5 and 6 and turn 7 to point downwards.
2. You may only count from LEFT to RIGHT.
3. If you reach the end of the row before the end of counting, you need to continue to the beginning of the row again. As an example, if you start at 7, skip 8 and 1 and turn 2 downwards.
