Besides making it root of 1 you can use a match to cross out the two straight ones.

A much more simple and correct solution that I found
Both of those solutions would involve adjusting more than one match, making them wrong. A diagonal line means nothing in roman numerals, you would have to adjust it to be straight, which would count as moving it.
